1942 was the last year cars were made during WWII and the only year the Custom was available with hidden headlights. DeSoto produced about 25, 000 cars in 1942 and the drive train was used for many years pre and post war, so parts are easy to come by. This car has been in my family since 1978 and was garage kept for most of those years. There is some slight surface rust on the undercarriage, which is normal for older cars. The body is rust free except for a couple nickel size spots on the trunk lid. It runs and drives great and is taken out regularly for Sunday drives.
