1950's vintage Model T amusement park ride car
This was last used at Pirates World, an amusement park in Dania Beach, Florida from 1967 to 1975. Among their many rides and attractions was this scaled down Model T gas powered car. It was built in the 1950’s. I was told it was one of about 20 similar cars Pirates World bought from an out of business New Jersey amusement park in the mid-1960’s
Powered by a vintage Kohler gasoline engine with a centrifugal clutch and chain drive. The body is built of metal and wood, there is no fiberglass anywhere on this vehicle. The grill is brass and the wheels are aluminum. The paint is in good condition, it looks to be an automotive enamel.
The previous owner told me the engine has not been started in over 20 years. When I attached a fuel source and tried starting the engine it would sometimes run but only for a few seconds. The engine has good compression, the carburetor needs to be rebuilt and the spark seems to be intermittent.
While researching this amusement park car on Google and YouTube I found several old pictures and home movie videos taken back in the day showing these unique vehicles driving around Pirates World.

The length from bumper to bumper is 103 inches and the width is about 46 inches
The rear brake is engaged by pulling this handle back
and the throttle is a motorcycle twist grip
The wood must of been replaced at sometime, it all looks to be in excellent condition

The fuel tank is full rust, it will need to be cleaned out and restored or replaced
