Nash (1957)
for sale

Price: US $11,500.00

Description:

Up for sale is a great example of a rarely seen piece of history. Here we have a 1957 Metropolitan. Finished is a rare, two year only color combination of Coral Red over white. When was the last time you saw one like it? To make it even more impressive is that many have claimed that the paint (minus the roof) is all ORIGINAL. I cannot back that statement up but will say, it certainly appears to be true. This car spent a large majority of it's life in Texas then Florida. This car has NEVER been restored. Retains all it's original body panels. No patches. NO FILLER. You are looking at a rust free, unmolested Met. This is rarely the case with these. The interior is very pleasing. The seats have been recovered with period seat covers but it appears the original hounds tooth upholstery is beneath it. Chrome, trim, wheels...All immaculate! You could literally each your lunch off the undercarriage. It's that clean.
Odometer shows 44, 386 and my title shows that as ACTUAL MILES but I cannot document that. I can only assume this is accurate judging by the cars condition.
Mechanically I have had this car serviced by a renowned vintage British car mechanic. He has been working on these and the like for decades and could not get over the original condition of this car. Last year the car was completely gone through. Tune up, fuel pump, rebuilding of the carburator, ect... This is a very turn key car.
The chrome is as close to perfect as you can get. Appears completely original and not rechromed. Even sporting the Nash 'Flying Lady' hood ornament.
There is very little I can say regarding flaws. There is a few small chips that were touched up (see pics), The lock for the rear seat isn't easy to operate and the radio was removed for repair which is included in the sale or I can reinstall it but I'd suggest it being refurbished first. Starts every time. Clutch is good. Performs well. It just needs to be driven which is what I have not done enough. That's why I'm letting it go. This is part of my personal collection. I searched a long time to find the perfect Met and this did not disappoint. It's just time to pass it on. I have a clean Massachusetts title in my name.
Open to REASONABLE offers. Getting this car to the right buyer is very important to me. I can arrange shipping to ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!
