Sadly selling my 1976 Avanti II. I am remodeling my garage to add a film studio and I need the room (and cash) to finish my new venture.
The Avanti really is one of the original Muscle Cars. It’s unique classic design makes the car a real “head turner”.

I have owned and enjoyed this beautiful car for 5 years, and have done many upgrades/repairs and have those receipts.
Car is in perfect running condition. It has been always garaged, babied, and lightly driven to keep it in top shape.
I have the original “Build Sheet”, which shows it was built in June of 1976 and shipped out in June of 1977. Car was probably used as a demo before it was sold. I also have the Owner’s Manual and the Operating Manual for the Moon Roof.
ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT:
- 400 cu. in. “small-block” Chevy engine.
- Rare original power Moon Roof.
- Three Speed Automatic Transmission.
- Power Steering.
- Power Windows and Door Locks.
- NARDI Collapsible Steering Wheel.
- Air Conditioning.
- Power Front Disc Brakes with Proportional Valve Braking.
- Roll Bar in Mohave Genuine Leather.
- Mahogany wood veneer Dash & Console Panels.
- Rear Window De-Icer.
RESTORATIVE MODIFICATIONS:
I have done a lot of repairs and replacements to get this car in top running condition. I have most of the receipts for the following (except for the body work).
EXTERIOR –
Incredible exterior body work – the bumpers have been removed to fully display Raymond Loewy’s classic Avanti design.
Mastercraft Avenger G/T tires PLUS two extra “excellent condition” tires.
Custom wheels. (Wheels, tires and performance exhaust added as part of custom bodywork)
The fiberglass body and paint are nearly show quality.
Added new headlights with integrated turn signals. Headlights with LED turn/park lights.
Installed new third brake light.
Installed new windshield washer system.
The original “hog troughs” were replaced two years ago.
Fuel tank has been reconditioned.
Complete front suspension repair/replacement; front springs also replaced with new CFE springs.
Rear suspension repair/replacement: replaced rear shocks, brake hose, and bump stops; replaced rear suspension torque arm bushings and rear leaf spring shackle bushings.
Brakes: Rebuilt front brake calipers and replaced front wheel bearings; replaced brake master cylinder and brake differential pressure switch block assembly.
Replaced transmission mount assembly.
Replaced motor mounts.
Rebuilt power steering valve assembly and power steering piston/ram assembly.
INTERIOR –
Seats, dash, headliner, door panels, - all are original and in very good condition, with only minor wear on the left side of the driver’s seat. The backseat has never been used.
Interior and trunk carpet were professionally replaced with Avanti black custom carpet and new Avanti Carpet mats.
Rear window defogger wiring replaced so that defogger now works.
Complete door seal kit installed.
ENGINE –
The engine (a 400 cu. in. Chevy “small-block) has been modified with Edelbrock E-Street performance cylinder heads and Competition Xtreme cam shaft. After these modifications, the engine was rated at 250 HP/ 270 ft lbs torque.
ARP High strength head bolt set and RH exhaust manifold.
Climate Control: The entire air conditioning system was rebuilt; new compressor, double blower w/case, R&R heater core & assembly; new ducting, new drier/ accumulator and expansion device; new heater/defrost blower motor & switch; replaced heater hose and water valve.
Cooling System: Overhauled radiator and replaced tank; replaced T-Stat and water outlet; flushed cooling system.
Added performance exhaust system. (Wheels, tires and performance exhaust added as part of body work modifications.)
Engine mount has been replaced with heavy-duty Corvette application.
Replaced radiator fan clutch with new clutch assembly.
Water temperature gauge replaced.
New fuel pump and fuel filter.
Coolant gauge sensor replaced.
ELECTRONICS –
New radio – Kenwood Exelon CD, AM-FM Stereo Blu-tooth, Pandora Internet Radio, USB, Hands-free telephone capability.
Remote Keyless Electronic Door Lock/Unlock has been added.
