Up for sale and your consideration is a rare imported 1996 Alfa Romeo “Twin Spark” Spider. This model was not sold in the United States, so you won't see many others on the road. This is also the reason I could not enter the VIN number in the proper place. The true VIN number is ZAR91600006020029.
If you buy this car, expect people to take notice. I have had people pull up next to me on the freeways to take pictures.
I imported this car five years ago through Canada. It is a true “euro” car. Mileage and speedometer are expressed in kilometers. I acquired it with 17k miles and have owned and driven it for five years with the current mileage hovering around 30K (just under 50K kilometers) Originally paid 15k for the car, and another 7k in fees to get it imported from Canada to California and plated. Recently passed California smog (August, 2017). It has been meticulously maintained, and I have spared no expense to make sure the car remains as close to showroom as possible.
I have done some things just because I wanted to. Upholstery trim was redone (originally red, now dove grey) and a new top (Robbins) has been installed within the last 6 months. Paint is good, but not perfect. My photos try to show the small blemishes (dings and scratches) this car has acquired over its life. No accidents of any kind, just the occasional rock from the highway etc.
I have done a lot of mechanical refurbishment. I completely rebuilt the engine (top and bottom) including valves, valve guides, valve seals, engine main bearings, re-balanced the crankshaft, replaced the radiator, thermostat, heater core and clutch - all work using Alfa parts sourced using my chassis number to insure accuracy. Always changed the oil regularly and all motor work and maintenance done by Alfa Romeo professional mechanics at Omega Motorsports in Culver City California. Very cool head turner of a car, and when it was imported there were a mere 6 in the country. Gauges are all in Italian and the speedometer and odometer are in kilometers. Very peppy and quick, and all of this in a stick shift of course. I will help with shipping if need be, but it is the new owners responsibility to make arrangements.
