LONG before SMART cars, there were SMALL cars. And back in the day, they didn't come much smaller than the Geo/Chevy METRO. Nowadays, having developed a cult-style following over the years, these cute tiny vehicles have become nearly impossible to find in GOOD shape, let alone units in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION with ULTRA LOW MILES like this one. I've seen the few of these that are for sale online with upwards of 300, 000 miles on them, which should tell you a thing or two about the reliability of the Suzuki engines that are in these cars. Need a small car to 'tow' behind your RV? Forget about that idea. You can almost 'velcro' this to your mobile home!
A little history of the METRO: These were produced by the Suzuki Motor Corporation (through a joint effort with General Motors) from 1989 through 2001. The first models were marketed under the now-defunct GEO brand name, then CHEVY from 1998 on. Early units were equipped with 3-cylinder engines. ALL final mechanical improvements that would be made to the METRO occurred with the 1998
models (a 4-cylinder, 16-valve, multiport fuel injection engine with electronic ignition, daytime running lights, composite halogen headlights, and dual front airbags were added.) There would be no more functional changes to the METRO except for colors and available models until it was discontinued in 2001. I even read somewhere that the 2001 models were only available as sedans and were sold ONLY to rental fleets.
This vehicle happens to be the upgraded
LSi
version, which further includes color-keyed front and rear bumpers and a custom cloth interior upholstery with Scotchgard Protector for easy spill cleanup. It also comes equipped with air conditioning and optional automatic transmission. It starts up instantly, idles perfectly and drives like any car would with just 20k miles on it. NEW tires all around.
IMPORTANT NOTE
: I recently titled this vehicle, and although the car has never been in an accident, it was pointed out by our local RMV (Registry of Motor Vehicles) that it recently passed through an insurance auto auction company prior to the dealer I purchased it from. Thus, they advised me that they had to title it as a salvage/reconstruct. I tried to argue this otherwise, but I shouldn't have to tell you how inflexible RMV's can get. The dealer owner I purchased it from assured me that, to their knowledge, it never had any type of collision repair work done to it; and that they've purchased many vehicles from that same auction firm with clean/clear titles just like this one had. I also ran an AUTOCHECK record on it, and it indicates that everything is CLEAN and, in fact, scores an exceptional 63 rating (see photocopy.)
Payment via cash (in person), U.S. Postal Service money orders (from your local post office) or bank cashier's check. Such checks, however, will be held/processed by our bank for 10 to 14 business days before the vehicle and title will be released. Deposit is expected within 24 hours of purchase.
We can't offer shipping on this, but we will of course be available to assist you or any transport company you may decide on. Please note that Massachusetts does NOT offer temporary plates. We would suggest U SHIP (dot com) as an awesome resource to have this transported. It works similarly to eBay, in that you post this vehicle to be moved and then transporters bid on the opportunity. You then decide on one of the cheapest offers. We've used them several times in the past with excellent results. That being said, there are many other transport companies out there. Upon full payment, we would be happy to store the car here for an agreed-upon length of time for you to secure transportation for it. You can also, of course, drive it ANYWHERE with full confidence.
