For sale is a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. Mileage on the odometer is a bit under 167, 000 miles and counting. Miles are mostly highway. The rear wheel bearings were replaced a couple months ago and the fronts were just recently changed. This car runs and drives great, is reliable, and is a lot of fun to drive. As the car sits, it currently has a larger intercooler installed and a free flow mid-pipe in the exhaust. I do have the original exhaust if you need to change it back to the original system before registering (it currently has a code for the secondary oxygen sensor). The previous owner upgraded the front brakes to the big brake kit with Wilwood Dynalite calipers. These are a huge improvement as far as responsiveness and pedal feel. The car currently has 15 Konig Dial In wheels installed. These are flow formed which I understand are cast aluminum wheels with a forged hoop for additional strength.
As far as issues with this car, there are a few things you should be aware of. On a cold start, there seems to be a ticking sound when accelerating that goes away within the first few times you accelerate. I would guess that the valves need to be adjusted to take up the slack. There is a P0300 code that appears sometimes when cruising on the freeway. This is apparently a common issue with these cars and I'm not exactly sure what the fix is, but I've already changed out the spark plugs. Also, in hot weather this appears to have a bog issue after cruising on the freeway. There may be a solenoid valve that needs to be cleaned but again I'm not sure of the exact cause. There is some rust at the rear wheels (around the wells), which may not be that clear in the pictures. The previous owner mentioned that she had the rust fixed at a body shop, but from the looks of it they didn't get it all. The extra Mazda body pieces for the Mazdaspeed are generally in good shape but the side skirts are showing cracks around a couple of the screws. A couple of the wheels have a scratches on the wheel face - nothing that affects the wheel but the finish is not in mint condition.

A non-refundable deposit of $129.05 is due immediately to hold the car for up to 14 calendar days, unless other arrangements are made. This means that I likely won't accept any best offers without prior communication and it would be best to contact me with questions before placing a deposit through eBay. If picking up the car from out of state, note that Illinois only issues temporary tags Tuesday - Saturday. Payment is accepted via cash or wire transfer. Cashier's checks may be accepted depending on the issuing bank and how quickly funds can be verified/cleared by my bank.
