The Good

-It's a manual. For people who drive manuals you can appreciate the sense of control.
-It gets about 28mpg on average (or so the dash readout tells me).
-It's a wonderful starter car. Seriously, it's the first car I ever bought for myself.
-There's only about 92, 000 miles on a Toyota block and transmission. Need I say more? It's made by Toyota. Treat it right, and it'll get you there for many, many years to come.
-It's way cheaper than the KBB blue book for a clean title car. Why? Because it's a rebuild. If you're not picky about that, you're in for a lot of car for not a lot paid out.

The Bad

-It's a rebuild. What does this mean? It was previously totaled by an insurance company and the original owner bought it back and restored it to working order.
-Air Conditioning doesn't work. It can be fixed by installing new line o-rings and a new drier.
-The steering wheel airbag was blown. The original owner elected not to install a new one. I elected to do the same. I've adjusted the price of the car accordingly.
-In one of the pictures you can see the Scion without its bumper cover. The car suffered a front driver's side impact that crunched the frame mount for the bumper backward a bit. This did not affect any mechanical bits or the suspension, steering, etc. It was enough to total the car, however. That being said, it was rebuilt and sold to a friend who then sold it to me. There's a minor amount of negative space behind the bumper cover on the driver side. I discovered this recently when I bumped a curb with it and broke the bumper cover. It has since then been replaced (hence the pictures) and while the bumper cover doesn't sit entirely right (to be fair the last one didn't sit entirely right either) and some screws were involved, it's on there. The hood is warped from the original impact. I never bothered replacing it because frankly, what does it matter? It closes and latches completely.
--I will throw in the old bumper, old antenna (there's a stubby TRD antenna on there at the moment), original shift knob, and any other spare parts I have free of charge.
If you're looking for cheaper, reliable transportation, look no further. If your teenager needs a car (and doesn't plan on wrecking the crap out of it) you've come to the right posting.
