2016 is the final year for this 6-cylinder turbo motor from Volvo. The standard T5 has a 4-cylinder turbo (250hp), standard T6 has a turbo/supercharger combo good for ~300hp. Then there is this car. It’s running a twin-scroll (no turbo lag) pumping out 325 horsepower and 356 pound feet of torque mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Rocketing this “Family Truckster” to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
Switching this car into “Sport” mode transforms it into a true race car. RPM don’t drop below 2, 000 RPMS and the throttle response is sharpened. Put that together with the paddle shifters and sport tuned suspension. Switch the digital dash to “Performance” mode and the center cluster looks like a proper race car gauge. It’s a true Jeckle and Hyde.
The 6-cylinder turbo option is available in three car body options. The XC60 is the SUV. Then there is the S60 sedan but I feel the V60 is the best of both. You get the room of the SUV without the height and added weight that the SUVs brings.
Larger brake upgrade over all the standard T5/T6 models.
The most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. Perfect for long road trips.
