Up for auction is a 1969 Ford Ranchero, gold in color with black stripe decals.
This car starts and drives well, a good low priced classic. Tires are still good, paint looks good with only a few minor defects. The interior is good but could use alittle cleaning up and the rear upholstered panel behind the seat has fallen down and needs to be replaced but is still there. Came in from an auction out west and has been stored indoors, in a private collection for the last 5 years that we can verify.
GOOD:
- Most of everything.
- Great looking, functional classic at a great price to get our ebay account rolling.
- Hope in and drive.
- I have taken it on a few 50 mile trips in the texas summer without issues.
BAD:
1) There are only a few small paint nicks here and there, see photos.
2) The stereo does not seem to work, expect to replace it.
3) The engine has a slight stumble from idle when cold, runs fine when warm. We tried to get this tuned out of the carb but its just old. We have plans and parts to convert to a 4bbl configuration and this can go to the new owner if they want or we may complete the work and revise the listing depending on our schedule.
4) The transmission lever seems to overshoot reverse gear from park, you usually have to bump it back to the left again to engage reverse.
The interior needs floor mats and the dash is loose and 'dirty' looking because the color is fading off the pad.
All of the inspection and tags are current. Stored indoors. No way to verify mileage.
Other than the above, the car drives well and gets alot of attention. Very fun and practical at the same time. We have driven the car through town many times and never had any problems. Keep in mind it is 46 years old and not a new car, but it is in good condition considering its age. Very rust free body and chassis.
