A head turning recently redone 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler, equipped with a numbers matching 429 SCJ, 4speed close ratio transmission, factory DragPak ( oil cooler and ram air) with 3.91 traction lock rear end in stunning Grabber Blue. Magnum500's on period correct Firestone tires. All gauges work, and there area alot of them on that distinctive dashboard. Simply the fastest, most powerful Ford/Mercury car sold in the hey day of muscle cars. One of the winningest body styles in Nascar in the early 1970's, the Cyclone Spoiler captured 11 of 18 races entered by the Wood Brothers with Dave Pearson as their driver, proving its muscle car bonafides. The car is complete, including an elusive factory exhaust manifold heat sheild specific to the 429 Super Cobra Jet( needs some restoring/painting and installing) , an engine promoted as more powerful than the Boss 429 in this DragPak combination, by Ford, at over 400 horse power. The Close ratio Hurst shifter works effortlessly, making it a joy to drive the manual transmission. The paint is 3 years old and laid down by Duffys in Iowa when the car underwent a thorough cosmetic restoration. What needs your attention? The rear package tray needs to be recovered, the front kick panels need to be replaced with the proper ones with speaker ports, the headlights/buckets need to be restored, there are 2 small bubbles in the paint, one near the Spoiler decal shown and one on the roof that is hard to see and harder to photograph. The chassis and underbelly of the car has been worked on, is complete, but the car is driven, so its not as pristine as a frame off resto.
