1950 Studebaker Champion Regal

Studebaker Champion Regal (1950)
for sale

Price: US $2,000.00

Description:

I'm relisting the 1950 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe and starting the bidding under where it ended.
Very desirable body style of one of the most daring automobile designs ever. Bullet nose Studebakers were only built in 1950 and 51. The Starlight Coupe incorporated the WWII fighter plane design into the rear windows making it very unique and a hit with restorers and hot rodders. This car has very little rust. There is a small area on the right front fender and on the right door. The floors and trunk are extremely solid. The doors open and latch with no sag or drag. The frame and everything under the car is solid. Glass is very good except for cracks in the drivers door window and vent wing, both flat glass and easily replaceable. The car was parked over 30 years ago in a garage in dry Arizona. The body is in remarkable condition and shows no signs of accidents. The car had no lower grills or front bumper when I got it, but located them on a donor car. The car must have had a floor shifter at one time and part of the floor tunnel was cut out. Another tunnel piece is included. Interior is pretty complete but needs total redo. Seat frames are solid with good springs, but the padding and covers are pretty much gone. Headliner bows are there along with most interior panels for patterns. Door panels are missing. There is no rear view mirror, ash tray or radio. The engine turns over but have no idea if it would run or not. There's no radiator. It does have the prized bullet on the nose and the hood ornament still has the clear plastic. There are several parts in the trunk included. The lower grills are in great shape and just need some clips replaced to install them. Wiring and brake system are certainly in need of attention. This is a project car.
As many of us car nuts, I have more projects then can be easily completed. This is a very complete and solid project and it will make a great vehicle, stock or modified. It has the patina of a rat rod just as it is, if that's the look you're after.
As anyone that has built a project car knows, rust is the most expensive thing to fix, often costing more time and money then the original purchase price of the car. Save yourself that headache with a solid car body to start with. This car would make a perfect resto rod or full custom. It has the right look and is the most desired body style of the Studebakers of this era. Car is for sale locally also so this listing may be removed prior to auction end. Cost of transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer, but I will help with loading. I can store the car for awhile longer, if needed.
There is NO TITLE. Car has been out of the DMV system for over 30 years. I will provide an Arizona DMV Notarized Bill of Sale that should allow you to get a bonded or certified title in your state. Please check with your state DMV to see if there is any other paperwork needed prior to bidding. Please bid with confidence that this 1950 Studebaker is described as well as I can and that my 100% rating is very important to me. If there are any other questions, please ask and I will provide any information I can. Need more photos of a certain area, please let me know and I'll get them if possible. Want to inspect the car? Please come check it out or have your representative check it for you.
