This is a 1929 Ford Shay Model A . These cars were factory produce by Ford Motor Company and sold through Ford Dealerships to be a replica of the original 1929 Ford Roadster. There is ton of information and very active owners group on the history of the Shay.
This car is a Deluxe Model A as it has 2 side mounted spare tires. This car is not only an authentic looking 1929 Model A roadster but also reliable, practical and safe. This car is all the fun of a Model A roadster with the reliability and ride of a more modern vehicle.
These cars were built on the frame of a Pinto and also has the original 2.3 four cylinder motor that is hooked up to a manual 4 speed transmission of the Pinto. It has rack and pinion steering with disc brakes.
You will have a hard time finding a car that will draw as much attention for the dollar as the Shay will.
This Shay runs and drives great. The speedometer does not work so I do not know the exact mileage. The fender mounted spare tires have covers to go with them and there is one curtain missing. Front seat was recently upholstered.
This car looks, runs and drives great and you will be hard pressed to find a better car for the price. Please look at the pictures closely as the pictures reflect the condition of the car better than I could ever describe.
Deposits:
Buyer must contact me within 24 hours of accepted offer and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500 deposit due within 24 hours of listing end is needed to secure the vehicle. The remainder is due within 7 days. If no contact is made within 24 hours, I reserve the right to re-list vehicle or sell otherwise. All financial transactions must be completed before pick up of the vehicle. Payments accepted will be cash or certified check.
Shipping: The buyer is responsible for finding and arranging shipping and all shipping charges. If the vehicle is going to be shipped, full payment in the form of cash or certified check must be received before the vehicle is picked up.
