I
am listing this car for a friend who began the restoration a few
years ago. Due to declining health, he has chosen to move the coupe
on to a new owner. This car has great restoration project potential, with many, many new parts and much work already done. The most
difficult will be finishing the body. As pictured, the bottom 6
inches is pretty much gone. Every patch panel and sub frame component
has been purchased, and it is now up to a competent body man to
stitch them in. The doors are also stripped to bare metal with the
bottom beads having rust through. The trunk lid skin is good, but not
attached to the inner skin yet. The front fenders are also partially
stripped, look pretty solid, and are ready for body work.
There
are boxes upon boxes of brand new parts. Rear fenders, cast iron
brake drums, parking brake carriers, front brake actuator assemblies, bearings, nut / bolt hardware, sheet metal, literally thousands of
dollars worth of parts.
The
engine is stripped to the short block and is ready for rebuilding.
Chief
(his title from a career in the Navy), says he didn’t get to buying
tires yet, and it will need windshield glass. This is a complete car
with parts all inside one small building. Aside from getting the
coupe body sorted out, this should be a fairly straight forward
restoration, thanks to the booty of parts and cleanup work already
done. I think everything here is a good value at the opening bid
Pickup
as soon as possible would be appreciated, but we can work with you. Please, no paypal. Bank check or good old cash works best. We may
relist if the car does not sell, or I may just buy it myself if there
is no interest.
If
you have any questions or need more pictures of something specific, I
can get that to you. The car sells with a clear title.
Thanks
for looking.
