This 1933 Packard model 1003 was delivered from Detroit to Packard Bergen County in Hackensack, NJ and was purchased by a delicatessen owner in neighboring Hasbrouck Heights.. Was resold in approximately late 30's to a couple in Carlstadt that had a milk delivery business and they had it until 1990 when I purchased it. According to Packard roster keeper, only about 15 of this model still exist.
The car has gone through a body off restoration. When I purchased this car it was complete with the exception of the left rear light and one door handle. But the years and condition made it necessary for the body off restoration. It was really a labor of love, as no one in their right mind would have taken on a project like this. The body work and paint work was done by a local shop with many years experience. The two tone base coat/clear coat still looks great. It has a slight metallic in it as the original did as well. The upholstery was done at Montclair auto top with English broadcloth. The wood burl elm looks great and the dash has been gone through? The chrome plating was mostly done by Pauls Chrome out of Pennsylvania. Their work is amazing and the script on the headlights is still in tact. The detail on the face of the goddess is very clear. The engine was rebuilt from a well known Packard guy from the area. The rods and bearings were rebabitted from Pauls rod and bearing. The gas tank was cut open and cleaned and rewelded, the wiring harness was replaced with one from Rhode Island wiring. The brakes were all done over, the transmission, rear end were all gone through. The fuel pump, starter, generator, carb, etc were all rebuilt. I have a scrapbook with many photos as well as receipts. I could go on and on about the work that went on this car. I would be happy to answer all questions about this car.
I have a small list of things that I still need to do, and would gladly answer any and all concerns as well. The wiper motors need to be checked out, I have a tail pipe to put on and I notice a drip from the water pump packing. Unfortunately the car has not been used much the last 2 years and hoping to find a new home for a rare car. I believe the car is priced fairly with all that was done.
Please feel free to inquire and ask questions before bidding.
