Up for Auction is a 1939 American Bantam roadster restoration project. I was hoping to get to restore this car, but a number of circumstances will not let that become a reality.
This roadster has great bones and would be an excellent candidate for restoration. The frame appears to be original, without any modifications. The exterior of the body primarily has surface rust with a bit of rot along the bottom of the cowl as you can see in the photos. The wood appears to be quite good. The drivers side rear brake appears to be hung up as the wheel doesn't spin. The car is currently registered, but I am still waiting for the transferable registration to arrive.
The door latch catches are currently missing as is one of the metal door frame trim pieces and some of the trim screws that hold in the door hinges.
This auction includes a pair of restorable Hupmobile gauges, a spare 1939 roadster windshield, a brand new set of stamped steel Bantam floor pans which are pictured (these are the left and right pans as well as the parcel shelf behind the seat), as well as a steel patch panel for the rear body. There is no engine, trans, radiator, or driveshaft. I have some other parts in my collection which I may be able to sell to the winning bidder.
Item in as-is condition with no warranty. Buyer to arrange and pay S&H. Car must be paid for in full before it can be picked up. Item must be picked up within 10 days of auction end unless other arrangements are made in advance with the seller. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of auction end via paypal. Regarding payment for the car, payment of the entire amount cannot be made via paypal.
