Price: US $34,000.00
Price: US $34,000.00
The car was supposed to go on consignment this week but there is a 1 week delay preparing a spot in their showroom for it . So, I have relisted it for the owner at a ridiculous savings to the new buyer.
1940 4 door Show car winner collector Packard Sedan
.
8 Cyl. 19, 600 original miles
owned by my best friend, a 90 year old Florida resident. His health issues are forcing the sale. If the car is not sold, it will be kept until passing it on to his children.
Showroom condition, original paint, no rust what so ever. Car looks like it just came off the production line.
Engine # C316425C
Chrome is perfect with no pitting or rust anywhere. Perfect brown broadcloth original interior. Seats and door panels are all original and perfect for a 70 +year old car. All door panels are a perfect match with no stains in the original upholstery. The floor carpet is also perfect. The headliner is also perfect but has a one inch slit above the rear passenger door. This car was meticulously cared for as a collector car. Original spare in the trunk. Tires have less than 2000 miles and whitewall tires were added a few years ago for looks. All gauges work as well as the clock but the clock fuse has been pulled to stop the battery from draining when in storage. The car is started and ran daily. It runs and purrs like a top. Owner has the original owner's letter of ownership as well as second owner info. There is a dent the size of a dime in the outside of the trunk down low on the passenger side. It was done at a car show. It is hard to see if you are not looking for it. All of the paint on the vehicle is original.
First Owner bought the car new from a Ne Packard dealer and kept it with his other collector cars. He had the car for 38 years. He sold it to another collector after that who promised to also keep it original as a collector car as well. Second owner kept it in showroom condition for 40 years and we have a detailed letter from him as well as his name, address and E mail to verify.
It even has the original floor mats. Radiator and heater core recently flushed to maintain tip top shape. This car is unbelieveable. This car has original documentation dating back to 1940 original owner. Including all repair receipts and original 1940 Brochure. All original working parts, hoses, exhaust, engine parts, wheels, tires, brakes etc have been repaired or replaced by a
retired Packard mechanic from the Packard club.
All receipts have been kept. Thousands of dollars were spent going through the entire car replacing or rebuilding every piece of old rubber hoses, mounts, bushings, wheel bearings, brakes, mufflers, exhaust etc etc throughout the car to ensure that it is kept in tip top operating condition. (Receipts were kept). This car is a many time show winner. the present owner had the entire cooling system boiled out to assure no rust and or water leaks at an expense of $2300.Car is presently stored in homeowner's Tampa florida garage and occasionally driven to car shows. It is rare that a car of this condition and miles becomes available. Most cars of this age are rebuilds. Not this one. This car is museum quality. I am listing it for the 90 year old owner as he is not computer literate and as a favor to him. Car comes with all original records. Buyer will be put in touch with him directly for questions or viewing the car and payment. It is a 120 model 1801. The vin # is C316425C. I have personally seen this car many times and can speak for it's perfection. Don't let this one of a kind 78 year old original slip away.
All Reasonable offers will be considered prior to the end of this listing. Thanks for looking.E mail me for questions. chashof atgeeemaildotcom
