1941 Packard One-Twenty Convertible Coupe
Remarkable two-tone Wilshire Brown and Andes Tan with a host of period options and accessories! Fitted with fully functional electromagnetic clutch! Sold new from Santa Monica, CA before spending time in Arizona through 2002! Third owner fully restored it professionally and kept the last 16 years! Excellent investment car!
Leading up to World War II, Packard had a full bag of tricks for any and all buyers in nearly every price range. The 1941 model 19th Series Packard was introduced with an entirely new design that truly pulled a modern appeal for buyers of the era. The former bucket headlights were now incorporated into the fenders along with the parking lamps, rounder fenders with upscale horizontal stainless trim accents front & rear, isolated running boards, simplified side engine trim that incorporated the hood release, open rear windshield without the center divider, tail lamps moved to the body, while the fuel tank finally found a gas door to hide the filler, plus much more when admiring the interior!
Offered here is a beautifully restored 1941 Packard One-Twenty Convertible Coupe finished in outstanding factory correct appeal everywhere you look! Painted factory Andes Tan & Wilshire Brown with a gorgeous Burgundy leather and Beige cloth combination interior! Standing on a 127” wheelbase, power comes by its original 282ci Straight 8 engine with Stromberg downdraft carburetor producing 120 horsepower. All transferred through a column shifted 3-speed manual transmission with functional electromagnetic clutch & Econo-Drive providing overdrive gearing and comfort at higher speeds with less engine stress! Options are abundant on this convertible and include front & rear bumper guards, Packard AM radio with cowl-mounted antenna, working electric dash clock, rare Trippe driving lights with original dash switch, working Guide spotlight, accessory turn signals, Cormorant hood emblem, passenger visor-mounted vanity mirror, rear reverse light, dual outside mirrors, Packard De Luxe under dash heater/defrost along with auxiliary dual stream under seat heater, power convertible top, rear wheel shields (skirts), rear quarter panel rock guards, full wheel discs with Dayton 235/75R15 radial wide whitewall tires, carpeted trunk, locking gas cap, rubber floor mats, and so much more!
This stunning example began life in sunny, southern California sold new from Simonson-Schactmeyer Packard in Santa Monica om January 30th, 1941 and later made its way to dry Phoenix, Arizona. It remained a solid rust free example and went through a passionate restoration in 2002 when a new Pennsylvania owner purchased it. A complete repaint in factory colors, full engine rebuild, all new cloth-covered wiring harnesses, new 316 tig welded stainless steel 18 gallon fuel tank, new sending unit & pump, restored original running boards with rubber surface, complete restoration of transmission & electromagnetic clutch with original parts, balanced driveshaft, all new tires, rear taillights converted to LED for added daytime visibility, all new fabric & leather interior, refinished dash, new stainless steel battery box, all new braking system & linkage, new wheel bearings, fully refurbished power top operation with new convertible top, rebuilt water heater, triple plated & polished chrome bumpers, and so much more! It is a remarkable car showcasing little fault, minus a later driver side front fender repair that shows a slight clear coat hazing around the headlight area. It is very rare when a vehicle comes to market with this show ready appearance and capable drivability! Any interested parties are welcome to call with additional questions, or schedule a chance to view it firsthand. If you have been looking for a pre-war Packard Convertible, your search stops here. What a value!
