This Willys has three outstanding qualities that are a MUST when you buy a hot rod: It's a unique platform (with an unusual powerplant), it's finished exquisitely everywhere and it's not some trendy build that looks out of date in three years. Understated BMW Avus Blue does an amazing job of highlighting...the peaks and curves of the bodywork from the stock cab and front fenders to the '40 Ford rear fenders, Mack Products bed and custom built running boards and roll pan. Small touches abound from the chromed grille to the '41 Chevy taillights. Open the hood and you'll find a real surprise: a 409 Chevy with dual quads! Polished and chromed parts abound from the Edelbrock Endurashine coated carburetors and intake to the billet pulleys to the vintage look finned valve covers and air cleaner. Low mounts for the alternator and A/C compressor make sure the motor is the focal point of the engine compartment. Underneath, a custom built tube frame chassis merges a Mustang II front end, electrically boosted rack and pinion steering, a 2004R overdrive transmission and a four link with a Ford 9 inch rear stuffed with Mark Williams axles and 4.10 gears out back to ensure a comfortable, competent ride. Inside, black leather and Avus Blue paint cover every surface. The custom covered bucket seats, a handmade center console and door panels will look as good in ten years as they will today. Classic Instruments gauges fill the factory locations while a Lokar shifter and tilt column with a LeCarra steering wheel put you in control.
