This is an extremely rare 1949 DeSoto Custom Convertible Coupe (second series). In 1949 DeSoto only produced a total of 3, 385 second series convertible coupes and only a handful are known to still exist today.
This previously restored West Coast beauty has just over 83, 000 original miles and is currently part of the Goat Hill Automobile Collection in Southern California. The car was manufactured in Los Angeles and first sold on August 24, 1949 in San Francisco, California. (Copy of original Sales Invoice is included along with the original Owner’s Manual.)
It is equipped with the Spitfire Straight Six engine and Tip-Toe Hydraulic Shift Fluid Drive (Semi-Automatic)Transmission. Additionally, it has a power convertible top, radio, clock, front/rear bumper guards and dual exterior mirrors.
