Kaiser Traveler (1949)

This is a 1949 Kaiser Traveler, the first hatchback ever built in America. The car is a surprisingly complete barn-find, and is ready for a restoration or customization, or even a transformation into the ultimate Rat Rod. The original Continental flathead six engine has been replaced with a Chevy 235 Blue Flame six, but the original overdrive three speed transmission seems to be present. The body itself seems to be solid, though the tailgate hinges have rusted out and the floor pan needs to be redone.
The interior is very rough, although the dashboard is mostly intact. The steering wheel, originally made of ivory according to many sources, is cracked in several places.
This car is meant for the serious Kaiser aficionado or the guy who's looking for the most unusual project car he can find. Bid what you want to pay for it and it may be yours.
Please bear in mind that the buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. We will help to load the car on your truck or trailer after we have received payment. Cash or verified PayPal only.
