Description:

1950 Willys-Overland Jeepster                             One of the finest Jeepsters available on the market!  Stunning good looks and equally stellar drive characteristics!  Beautifully original throughout, excellent color combination, and ready to show or drive immediately!  Act quickly!
Post war Willys-Overland designers had the task of leading the company who was looking for a way to bring their once military Jeep products to the civilian marketplace. Without any sophisticated tooling in place to redesign their already tested & true product line, they simply decided to add accessories to make them more user friendly. One very unique exception would be a sporty, highly optioned Jeepster introduced to the market in 1948 by automobile stylist Brooks Stevens. It would be the last Phaeton design, due to utilizing side curtains in place of roll up windows, that any USA auto maker would produce ever again. With traditional slab sided body with flat fenders, this new Jeepster would incorporate luxurious features more commonly found on mainstream automobiles. These included white sidewall tires, hubcaps with trim rings, deluxe steering wheel, sun visors, locking glove box, cigar lighter, just to name a few. Produced only 3 years, only the final year would be offered with revisions to the original design. A new front V-shaped grill with horizontal chrome bars, and a new dash layout with fresh instrumentation. Further yet, the 4 & 6 cylinder engine options were mildly changed through slightly larger displacement. These 1950 examples will always be the most collectible of the series!
We are proud to offer this amazing, late production 1950 Willys-Overland Jeepster finished in gorgeous Burgundy body with Gloss Black two-tone combination. With black vinyl interior with red accent piping, the Stayfast cloth top and side curtains match it perfectly! Being a late unit, it possesses a 134.2ci Inline 4 cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed standard transmission with overdrive. Features on this stunningly restored unit include full dash instrumentation with tachometer, heater/defrost, rear-mounted continental spare tire, polished fender steps, Firestone Deluxe Champion 6.70-15 wide whitewall tires, cowl ventilation, dual outside mirrors, engine oil filtration, and more! Added to this Jeepster is a discreetly integrated 12-volt converter to offer a Panasonic AM/FM/CD audio system with two under dash speakers, along with turn signals & front seat belts for extra safety.
Brilliantly restored to impeccable standards, this car features near flawless paint on a super slick rust free body, mirror like re-plated chrome trim, expertly fitted convertible top & side curtains, and an interior fitted like a glove that includes a full Dynamat insulation underlayment for improved cabin sound and comfort. The attention to detail flows under the hood as well with correct Carter YF carburetor, air cleaner assembly, AutoLite generator charging system, new cloth-insulated wiring, Prestolite distributor, and more! All exterior hardware is now stainless steel, with new suspension components, exhaust system, tires, and fuel lines. Even the storage bag for storing the side curtains behind the rear seat retains the three tightening straps along with matching boot cover for top down cruising. You would hard pressed to find a nicer example anywhere on the market, equally mechanically or cosmetically! Showing only 1, 599 miles on the odometer, we believe this to be the mileage since completion of the restoration. Representing one of only 5, 836 Jeepsters produced in 1950, this truly presents a rare opportunity to own one of the finest surviving today! Please feel free to call with any additional questions or schedule a chance to see it in person. Thanks for your interest!
