1953 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER DELUXE CONVERTIBLE
The last two owners had this for 17 years each going back to 1982 in California. The floors and frame are in excellent rust free condition. The last owner spent the better part of 17 years restoring it until it was in the estate. It was never driven after so much work and expense.
The paint was done to a nice quality. The body is very straight and the doors, hood and trunk shut well. All the rubber body mouldings are new. The glass is in excellent condition. All the wiring is new. The chrome is show quality everywhere with few flaws.
I was told the engine was rebuilt and it does run like a watch. The automatic transmission was done by a well known national shop that understands fluid drive. (I spoke to them). The suspension is tight. The brakes are new. The power steering operates fine. The radiator and cooling system was refreshed.
This has the Highlander interior which is new and trimmed in leather. The seats, door panels and carpets are new. The top is new and the boot cover. The power top cylinders are new but the top goes up and down slooow.
The dash is lovely. The leather dash top is new. The interior chrome trim, wind wing side window surrounds and windshield chrome is high quality. The headlights, turn signals, dashlights, and brake lights work. The gauges and speedometer work. The gas guage doesn't work even thou all new wiring and a new fuel tank.
This has 5 chrome wire wheels and brand new tires. Overall a lovely New Yorker that was taken care of and then refreshed.
