International's answer to the Chevrolet Suburban, selling for NO RESERVE.
The International Harvester Company of Chicago, Illinois was very well known for offering one of the best light & heavy truck lineups for the working class in the 1950’s. From the farm, city environment, highway, to off-highway situations, International Harvester supplied 168 basic models to be fitted exactly as a buyer needed to fulfill whatever needs possible. One of these popular models was the R-110 Traveler, which competed directly with the GMC Suburban, offering three rows of seats for up to eight passengers! With the rear seats individually removable, it also provided nearly 90 inches of floor space that was 5 feet wide! This versatility gave owners excellent freedom, especially with a lift gate rear window and fold down tailgate.
Featuring a 115” wheelbase and ½ ton carrying capacity, these trucks are fitted with double action shock absorbers plus easy-riding long leaf springs providing cushioned-comfort travel. Under the hood lies the Silver Diamond 220.5ci Inline 6 cylinder mated to a 3-speed column shift manual transmission.
This barn find is ready for your restoration or conversion to a resto mod. How many are still around, my guess, not too many. I purchased this as a project for my son's who are more interested in the modern M-cars from BMW. So, I am passing this running project to the next 1950's era lover. It will need brakes to be road worthy. However, the use of the emergency brake stops the vehicle well enough to get on to a trailer. That is how I got it home. So, the next step is yours to take. Full restoration or resto mod. Your choice and selling for NO RESERVE. Clean California title in my hand and ready to go. There is some rust on the body. Please view all photos and the video for the R110
