55 Desoto Chrysler Texas Patina Barn find
This is a 1955 Desoto Fireflight 2 door sportsman. This Desoto was registered in Waco, Texas until 1979.
I purchased the car a few years ago because of its remarkable condition and patina. It is totally complete, has never been restored, sheet metal is straight and has the rare optional dealer installed air conditioner. I drive the car regularly. It starts and runs quietly, accelerates nicely, shifts properly and stops easily. It is powered by the venerable Firedome “hemi” engine. The fuel system and cooling system have been cleaned and are working properly (radiator and gas tank both boiled and checked for leaks). The brakes were rebuilt with new wheel cylinders and flexible hoses all around, the front end has been lubricated and the fluids changed.

The most outstanding feature of the car is the beautiful patina cooked into the finish from years of southwestern sun.
The wiring and upholstery need work.
This would make a great rat rod or an easy restoration.
