1959 Imperial Custom 2dr hardtop project. This car needs full restoration. First off I installed the front bumper on it (photo 2), I have the bumper side pieces and the turn signal pods, both solid and not rusted out. Also including replacement DR quarter window and other extra parts. Rough but nearly 100% complete car, it is a Custom and very highly optioned. White with turquoise interior. It of course has the standard power steering and power brakes, car is also equipped with:
heater, rear window defroster, radio with foot control, power windows, power locks, power 6 way Swivel seat, Flyte Sweep Deck Lid, hood ornament, Auto Pilot, Solex tinted glass, passenger side exterior mirrorstone shields
This car was parked since the early 1970s, the mileage is 81, 120 which I’m sure is original.
I have a clear title for it.
It as been in a barn since then and was just pulled out a few months ago. It is a mix of original paint and old repaint. It will need all 4 floor pans replaced and some brackets underneath them. The inner rockers are solid both sides except for one spot on the passenger side front corner where the inner rocker and sill will need work (common problem here in Chicago due to mud and salt staying in that area). Passenger side needs the area above the wheel well replaced, patches needed on driver’s side wheel opening lip, needs lower quarters both sides. Have photos of all of this. Hood, doors, trunk lid all solid with no holes or thin spots. Needs front fenders. The car is very straight only found 2 small dings by one tail light ring. Bumpers solid and straight, there is a spot on the frame lip behind the rear bumper (the approx 2 wide area on the frame bottom) that has some thin spots. Car sat on 4 flats on an uneven dirt barn floor and this area collected water and debris. Just flat metal, 2-3in width, not a difficult repair. Obviously the car needs a good amount of rust repair I know of a junkyard in CA that has a solid 59 4dr (more than 1) that would provide all the sheet metal you need, plus some extra goodies, for around $1000 and will gladly assist the buyer if they want to purchase it to use for the sheet metal. I also have some additional sheet metal and parts available
ALSO
If you want a easy restoration I found a 1959 2dr that is a stripped out shell but is rock solid, with almost no rust, that can be had for under $1000
All the rare 59 only trim is intact. There is a tiny hairline in the grille bar which will be an easy fix for a chrome guy. It has very little pitting for one of these and the headlight buckets are great with no cracks and light pitting, I know a great chromer who is very fairly priced who I send my chrome to, just did '57 conv chrome for me. The pot metal quarter panel washboards need repair on the bottoms and are quite pitted. I can fix pot metal if you cannot find someone to do this repair. Hood lip trim has no dents. Front fender trim is not damaged. All stainless intact, there is 1 or 2 screw holes in 1 piece
Engine compartment is complete, except for generator bracket. I put some stuff in the motor and let it soak, I will try to see if it turns over this weekend. The sticker on the door jamb says the brake shoes were relined 6/12/1964 at 46k miles. The odometer says 81k miles and since the car was parked in the early 70s, and hasn't run since then, I'm sure that is original.
All the glass is in beautiful like new condition, as mentioned will include quarter glass to replace broken out one.
The interior has factory or dealer installed seat covers, a cool pattern, they are torn up in the front though. Appear to have been on the car since new. The steering wheel is from a different car, was like this when I got it. The dash pad is perfect not a crack or a warp. It even has both plastic eagle emblems by the windshield post trim, those are always missing and very difficult to find. Will not find a nicer original dash pad. The ash tray, glove box doors , etc, are also like new. The door panels are not bad and could be repaired. Headliner has a section missing from it. Sunvisors are like new. The interior chrome trim is very nice with little to no pitting, including all the window switches. I have 3 keys for the car but not sure they are the correct ones or maybe the locks are seized. Yes it needs a lot of work and will be an involved project but they only made 1700 of these and they rarely come up for sale. I have it priced it fair considering just the what the seats and other parts are worth. I do not want to sell this to someone who will part it out, I bought it to save it. I have other Mopars in similar and worse condition, no time for another one, I have 2 1959 Imperials already. I don’t think you’ll find one with an interior like this, just having the nice dash pad alone will save a lot of $$
Still has the original jack in the trunk. Everything shown in the photo of the trunk is included plus extra stuff from a 4dr.

NON REFUNDABLE $500 deposit in 2 days, Balance in 10 days. See payment terms. LOOK AT ALL PHOTOS.
Car is needs to be moved from where it is unless you want to pay the monthly storage bill, which is reasonable, but I would prefer it picked up sooner than later, it's in the way. It rolls and steers, driveshaft is disconnected, tires and rims are good.
