1959 DESOTO FIREFLITE SPORTSMAN COUPE
The DeSoto Fireflite is an automobile which was produced by DeSoto in the United States from 1955 to 1960.
The Fireflite was introduced in 1955 as De Soto's flagship model. It was wider and longer than previous DeSoto models and it came equipped with a V8 engine producing 200 hp when equipped with the 4 barrel carburetor (190 kW) and PowerFlite automatic transmission. The transmission was operated by a Flite-Control lever located on the dashboard. The car weighed 4, 070 lb (1850 kg) and cost US$3, 544. AM radio was a $110 option.
The 1956 model car was best known for its long, tapering tail fins, often accentuated by a two-tone exterior finish. The interior offered bench seating that could accommodate six passengers. The Fireflite had a 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) acceleration time of 11 seconds and a top speed of 110 mph (175 km/h).
For 1959, the car was restyled. The electric clock became standard. A hand brake light was optional.

THE CAR DRIVES VERY WELL FOR ITS AGE, THE 383 HAS PLENTY OF POWER AND TORQUE, AND THE TORQUEFLITE IS VERY SMOOTH. CAR ALSO HAS A VINTAGE AIR CONDITIONING KIT INSTALLED WHICH BLOWS COLD AND COOLS THE CABIN DOWN NICELY. THIS CAR IS AN EXCELLENT SURVIVOR. THERE IS NO RUST/ROT ANYWHERE ON THE BODY OR CHASSIS. THE FLOORS AND THE TRUNK ARE IN GREAT CONDITION. THE PAINT SHINES NICELY, AND PRESENTS VERY WELL FOR ITS AGE. THE FACTORY HEATER BOX & HUBCAPS ARE INCLUDED WITH CAR.
THIS PARTICULAR FIREFLITE SPORTSMAN IS EQUIPPED WITH THE POWER FRONT SWIVEL BENCH SEAT. THE INTERIOR HAS A NEW CARPET FITTED TO IT AND IS IN GREAT OVERALL CONDITION. THIS 1959 DESOTO FIREFLITE IS AN EXCELLENT DRIVER AND A FUN CAR TO CRUISE AROUND TOWN OR GO TO SHOWS

Payment
Please, be ready to buy when you click. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due when the auction ends. The final payment is due within 7 days after the auction ends. Balance is to be paid via bank wire or a certified bank cashier's check. Check will need to clear before the vehicle is released and the title is sent. The winning bidder needs to contact me within 24 hours of auction end to make payment arrangements. Please, arrange all financing prior to bidding. If you are not sure about anything, please don’t assume - just ask. I'm very easy going and will help in any way I can, but, please, be absolutely sure that you are ready to buy when you bid.
