Vehicle Description: 1960 ALFA ROMEO GIULIETTA SPRINT SPECIALE 1300 --Dark Blue with Red interior with Grey inserts, Red carpeting, 37, 000 miles, 5-speed manual gearbox. The Sprint Speciale was introduced in 1957 and directly descended from Carrozzeria Bertone Aerodynamica Technica (BAT) design studies of the mid-1950s. The Sprint Speciale’s 1, 300-cc, all-alloy, four-cylinder engine was fitted with a pair of Weber side-draught carburetors, and it could produce a healthy 116 horsepower. They were built on a slightly shorter wheelbase as the SS was small, lightweight, compact, aerodynamically efficient and very powerful for its size. The Sprint Speciale also added some racing touches seen on Ferrari’s of the time such as the plastic air deflector mounted ahead of the windscreen. Less than 1, 500 examples were produced in total. This Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale 1300 was restored several years ago. The level of detail is very high and the finish throughout is impressive. This SS has what appear to be the original serial number tags, body, and chassis number stampings, and the original engine under the hood. The odometer shows just 37, 000 miles. This Giuletta SS has received more than $15, 000 in recent mechanical service and is ready for immediate touring or Concours use. It is one of the best we have owned over the years. From the elegantly trimmed interior to lively performance to exquisite Bertone design, these Alfa Sprint Speciales have become one of the most collectible and desirable post-war Alfa Romeos in the market today. Completion of remainder of transaction is expected within 7 days from the close of auction, either in person at the time of inspection and pick-up, or if you are unable to view the car the balance must be wire transferred before the car is released to be shipped. Car is sold as is.
We have used Horseless Carriage Enclosed Carriers for shipping for many, many years and have been very satisfied, door to door, enclosed & fully insured. All shipping arrangements and applicable costs incurred are done so at the buyers expense.
