In. Supercharged V8 Mileage: 98, 297 This 1963 Studebaker Avanti R2 features an iconic design that is supplemented by an extra special motor under the hood. With smooth body lines, the under bumper radiator air intake, and the hallmark wedge design, the Avanti was one of the most iconic designs in American automotive history. The '63 Avanti was a fiberglass body on a modified Lark Daytona chassis and it was the first new body style for Studebaker since 1953. What makes this particular Avanti extra special is the 289 Cubic Inch Avanti R2 Supercharged V8 with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 289 horsepower, which was 49 HP more than the R1 Avanti and 39 HP more than Chevy's standard Corvette. The 4 Barrel Carb has also recently undergone a complete rebuild. Driving this Avanti is easy because it's loaded with factory options including Factory Power Steering, Factory Power Brakes, and a floor-mounted 3-Speed Automatic Transmission. This Avanti has a fresh new coat of Avanti Red Paint that gives it the look when it did when it rolled off the factory floor. This Studebaker sits on 4 whitewall radial tires with full Avanti wheel covers that make for smooth ride going down the road. The two-tone beige seats have been completely redone and they look and feel fantastic. Sitting in the drivers seat of this car makes you feel like you're sitting in the cockpit of a rocketship, with a factory speedometer, factory tachometer, and electric clock, as well as water temp, amp, fuel, vacuum pressure, and oil pressure gauges. You can listen to all of your tunes because this Avanti also has an AM radio and aftermarket in-dash 8-track player. And your passenger can look their best with the vanity mirror in the glovebox. If you're looking for a rare, high-performance, piece of American automotive history, this 1963 Studebaker Avanti R-2 is the car for you!
