I'm selling my factory BLACK on BLACK 1964 Chrysler 300 HARDTOP non-letter car. This isn't any old 300; it was delivered & sold by Chrysler Corporation directly to Chrysler Corporation Engineering Staff in Highland Park 3, Michigan on 2/7/64. They had it apprx 1yr and then sold it to Don Schmid Motor, Inc in Wichita, KS on 1/12/65 as a used vehicle with a total 8k on the odometer. It was then sold to a W.F. Hoit on 2/3/65 with 8010 mlge. I have the docs to verify this.
This car came to me 4yrs ago via a buddy of mine who inherited it thru the death of his brother in the early '90s. His brother had it since the '70's. It is registered AND titled (CA) in MY NAME, so all clear paperwork for the next buyer.
The list of options on this car is nearly unheard of; it's evident the Engineering Staff was hard at work when they received this one. It may be a car they created for the showroom floor so the buyer could see every option available on this particular model. This car may actually be a 'pilot' car given the select options which include:
Power steering, Power Disc brakes (front), Air Conditioning (both front AND rear), rear defrost, cruise control, vacuum gauge, power doors, power locks, power bucket seats (both right AND left), tilt steering wheel, AM/FM stereo, rear speaker, visor extensions, rear window screen, ashtrays, automatic ON THE FLOOR with console. I am sure I am missing an option or two. However, they stayed with the 383-2bbl engine. This leads me to believe it was the floor model created for the dealership option chart. It also has EVERY piece of factory trim on it (nothing missing).
It has a host of issues that need work at the moment; I consider it a project, but it runs & drives. The cooling system is done, but the speedo is broken off in the cluster (likely spun off the cable), the power locks don't work (wires cut), only driver side power window works, passenger window stuck down apprx 4, and slow to go into reverse when backing up (I think it needs a trans/filter change to correct this issue). Floors are solid and only rust is what you see; a little on each fender/quarter. Trunk floor has no holes, but has some surface rust. From what I can tell, the a/c & defrost units are still intact forward the trunk floor and behind the rear seat.
I have other cars and this one only takes up space. It's a very cool car as I upgraded to 15 Cragars with repro Firestone Wide Ovals giving it a Nascar vibe. I just don't have a need for it and will never get around to fixing any of it. But it's RARE and I've never seen another one like it. Therefore, I am selling to highest bidder with NO RESERVE. That means it will be sold on the first bid. I can only let the market dictate it's value because it's such an oddity.
I can drive the car within a mile of my house which is close to an interstate (280) and you can have a truck meet me there. Shipping is on you. Paypal deposit of $500 due within 48hrs.. Car to be released when full purchase price is received. Just email with any questions. I don't pretend to know everything, but I'll try to give you the best possible answer(s) just from owning this car for 4yrs.. Also, I had black plates put on the car thru the YOM program here in CA. If the buyer is from CA, I am required to complete a form to release the plates to you if you wish to maintain them on the car. If buyer is outside CA, this form will not apply and title can be simply signed over.
