1965 CA REGISTERED, Shelby cobra replica built by Backdraft racing. Beautiful car inside and out, perfect running condition and a previous original owner car. Car only has 4800 miles (mileage may vary as car is still being used) and was professionally built in 2008.
Engine: M-6007-A392 Factory built and ordered ford racing complete engine 430hp with 450ft/lbs torque, 9.7:1 compression, GT40 cylinder heads, M-6010-A351/A58 sportsman cylinder block. MSD Ignition. Auxiliary front oil cooler with braided lines and stainless air dam. Engine bay surrounded with stainless polished heat shields at fire wall.
Transmission
Tremec 5 spd built transmission to accommodate up to 550hp. Performance does Racing clutch installed.
Front Suspension
Cast lower wishbone with a McPherson style coil over strut, adjustable stabilizer bar, standard rack and pinion type steering system with 4 turns lock to lock as the standard ratio, ssteering column is made from high quality stainless steel tubing connecting to a CNC machined billet aluminum steering boss.
Rear Suspension
Centrally guided multilink rear suspension. The independent rear suspension offers camber and toe adjustments, fully height adjustable which makes it easier to fine tune for street and track use, BMW 3 series suspension.
Brakes
Power disc brakes on all four corners, brake discs are 310mm(12.2 inch) in diameter and the rear is 295mm(11.6 inch). Front and rear ventilated discs, calipers single piston calipers supplied by ATE. The calipers are fed from a vacuum assisted booster with a dual stroke master cylinder.
Interior
The cockpit of the car features 60's styling with modern features, high grade carpet with piped seams, overlay mats with bound edges, fully upholstered trunk. The seats upholstered in high quality leather, driver's side seat with adjustable seat slider. The interior of the car can accommodate a taller driver (in excess of 6'), wood rim steering wheel, self canceling turn signal and a full complement of 7 instruments. The instruments are all electronic with a stepper motor, stainless steel driver side roll bar and spare passenger roll bar purchased but not yet installed. The roll bar is made from grade 304 stainless steel.
Chassis
The ladder-type chassis is fabricated in a jig from SAE 1008 2' x 4' hot rolled rectangular steel tubing, with a 1/8 wall thickness, which provides a sturdy chassis, both in beam strength and in torsion rigidity. The chassis is reinforced with laser cut steel gusset plates in several areas for added strength in high stress areas, the differential is fully rubber mounted to the chassis in a cradle, added safety the chassis has been designed with a front crumple zone and the roll bar is structurally mounted to the chassis. The chassis comes with mounting points for an optional passenger side roll already.
Paint
Red factory paint with dual white racing stripes. Condition is great with 3m clear protector over rear lower fenders to prevent chips, hood installed with period style bolts holding on scoop.
Summer is approaching and this car is known to turn heads and attracts everyone's attention.
