1967 Austin Mini Cooper. Left hand drive.US Spec. This is an original Cooper car. Vin # This is a true Austin Mini Cooper with: 100MPH speedo, 7.5 front disk brakes , Brake booster Hydrolastic suspension Twin 2.25 SU carburetors MK1 tail lights, Mk1 Sliding windows External Door hinges Twin fuel tanks. This car is not an S but it does have S badges front a rear. Clean title.
This Mini Cooper is finished in red with a black top and webasto rag top. It has been well cared for and is rust free . The car appears to retain original floor pans and other metal. A major rejuvenation was conducted 4 years ago that included all fuel and brake lines replaced along with the chrome work and carpet. Lots and lots of receipts included. This car has been loved. The car has been driven and enjoyed so there are a few minor blemishes but the paint is bright and looks great. A set of mini-lite wheels were recently installed. Overall, the exterior of this Mini is in good condition.
The black Corbeau sport seats are very supportive and feel great to sit in. The rear seat is the original cooper back seat in red and white. The carpets is very recent along with the door panels . This car has the very rare and desirable Webasto sunroof. It is really fun to drive with the top open. The dashboard features the correct Smiths triple center binnacle gauges with all gauges working. All of the lights and wipers work as they should. The steering column mounted turn signal indicator switch even flashed green when in use. The sliding side windows operate as they should. The interior is completed with a TR7 polished steering wheel that feels great in your hands. The interior of this car is in good condition and is a great place to spend the weekend driving up your favorite twisty roads!
Mechanically the car is as good as it looks and runs like a top. The motor is to a 998cc unit and has great oil pressure. Pertronix electronic ignition and coil for reliable starting. The inline 4 engine has plenty of power to accelerate this lightweight car with ease and sounds amazing. As with most British cars, this mini does drip a couple drops of oil. The engine is mated to a 4speed transmission that shifts great through all the gears. The hydrolastic suspension is very tight and the car handles like it is on rails. The suspension maintenance tool will be included with this car. The steering is nice and tight. It is like a go kart and will put a smile on your face every time you drive it. The brakes have been completely rebuilt and the car stops with ease. This is a great running and driving car. As I write this, I am smiling thinking about all the fun I've had driving it.
This Austin Mini is an excellent weekend toy. These cars are desirable and appreciating . Left hand drive US delivered examples are not easy to find. This is a great chance to own a very nice Mk I Mini Cooper at a reasonable price. Reluctant sale with a heavy heart. Offered at a low reserve to fund my 356 restoration.
