1967 Sunbeam Alpine Series 5
This is a California drop top I purchased from the first owner. After the original owner drove the little Alpine for about 90, 000 miles, he rebuilt the engine, drove it another 1, 600 miles, then parked it until I became the second owner in February 2014. Since I became the care taker, I have gone through the braking system, I have gone through the fuel system and I have gone through the cooling system. Also, I have serviced the 5 main bearing engine, re-torqued the aluminum head, and adjusted the valves. The rare American Racing Silverstone magnesium wheels have been shod with new Kumho 13 inch tires. Back in the day, the magnesium wheels were added, along with a set of Koni shocks. This Alpine has an original steel hardtop, and since these photos were taken, I have replaced the plexiglass windows and door seals. The paint is about 60% original. The rear fenders, right door and part of the right front fender has been resprayed. There are dings and paint chips, however, there is no rust. The doors, hood and trunk lid fit excellent, which tells me this Alpine has never suffered any major body damage. On the inside, I have reupholstered the seats, including new foam padding and rubber diaphragms. I have installed a new upper and lower padded dash, a new windshield and seal and replaced all the rubber seals on the hardtop and doors. The original steering wheel was replaced with an aftermarket Superior item, by the first owner. The Sunbeam still has the original license plate frame from the dealer in Pasadena, California, Vincent's Motors. Don't let this one get away.
