I have a 1968 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible that was purchased from the original owners son who special ordered it from Buick. It has been in California all its life. I have owned this for 2 years whilst restoring it.
The Buick is a manual 3 on the tree !It drives like a dream. It has Power windows, power seat option, the seat drive has been replaced with a manual adjuster but I have since got all the components to reinstall for the electric drive and they are included. Power brakes, power steer, power top. The interior is new including door panels etc. Frames have been refurbished all new foam and padding and covers. Carpet is new and the floor coated before installation. Convertible power rams and hoses replaced, and drive pump rebuilt. The convertible top is new in side and outside including cables etc. I have a new convertible top cover for it in the blue.Interior replaced professionally by upholstery shop. The previous owner had a cover made for it in white to put on during hot days when the cars out side. This is included but looks a little worn. Ive never tried to use it. Seems silly when you can just put the top up. I have doors seals not yet installed. Brakes have all been replaced, master cylinder, booster, pads, wheel cylinders etc. Upgraded the original 2 barrel and intake to a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum manifold.
Its 95 percent done, just a few finishing touch's are needed.. The paint was redone years ago in original blue. The surface rusting pictured on the hood and trunk was caused by previous owner leaving blankets on it during storage. Tires are new. Fuel gauge not working. I'm ordering a new sender for it. radio not functional along with the clock. The car is a limited production only 10180 made and this was a 1 owner car. Mileage shows about 47, 000 so I assume 147, 000. The car had sat for 12 years and rats ate the interior hence its all brand new. New dual exhaust system .Outer window felts replaced. Heater and controls work great. Wipers, lights, turn signals etc etc. The motor was replaced with a FULLY REBUILT engine from a 68 skylark. Miles to date are 200 as Ive been driving it. I have the original 350 which goes with the car if the buyer wants it. When the motor was out we replaced the clutch. Battery replaced today. This has nothing left to do but touch up the paint if you want or enjoy the ride for summer. The car drives and rides fantastic. We have done many cruises and long trips.A simple paint job and this car is worth $25K . I have most of the original parts that were upgraded or replaced.
