This car has been a blast to own and drive over the years but need to make room for the next one. You could jump in and drive anywhere as its driven often and just last fall made a trip to Dallas with only one issue- i got a rock chip in the windsheild on the way home. Everything works great even the A/C!
Body: Very good condition for its age-mostly original paint-it looks to me as if some front sheet metal was replaced years ago as the paint doesn't match well. It does have some dents and scratches as one may expect from a car this old-the worst is on the right and left rear doors- there is a dent in the rear bumper as well. Ive also noticed that there is water getting into the trunk some times when it rains or when its washed-it may need a new trunk lid gasket? I had to remove the original trunk mat as i wasn't aware it was wet, so the trunk floor is rusty but not rusted through. The floor pans and frame are in great shape as well! The aluminum side trim is driver quality as it does have some dings and dents.
Engine/Trans: The 390 runs very well and needs nothing! Over the last few years-20, 000 miles I pulled the engine out to replace broken exhaust manifold bolts and replaced the following-All gaskets including head gaskets-oil pump-timeing set-freeze plugs-water pump-fuel pump-had the exhaust manifolds resurfaced. The FMX trans was seviced at that time and may have a slight leak but works great.
Suspension/Brakes: Entire front end was rebuilt when the engine was out including front and rear shocks-front end was aligned at that time as well. The entire brake system has also been through as well. The car does have drum brakes front and rear and there is not power assist but is easy to drive. Last rear the rear axle bearings and seals were replaced as well.
Fuel Sys: I had the tank cleaned out a few years ago while repairing the fuel gauge so there are no issues there.
Interior: The front and rear seats still look good as do the door panels but the headliner does have a stain or two- the dash is cracked as well as the steering wheel-there is a split on the drivers door arm rest but I will include a nice set that would have to be dyed to match-the carpet is in bad shape and needs replaced- its worse up front-I got a new carpet set for it but the supplier I bought it from sent the wrong color and it took forever to resolve that issue, and I never got back to it. The dome lightlense fell apart last summer and I haven't been able to find another but the dome light still works fine.
Tires/Wheels: Has the original steel wheels and dog pan hubcaps with 2 year old 225-70-15 Hancook radials with only 2500 or so miles on them.
Exhaust: I had new dual exhaust with a crossover and flowmaster mufflers installed after I put the engine back in from the manifolds back, it sounds great!
Glass: All the glass is in great shape except the wind sheild-it has two rock chips and is starting to turn white in the corners.
