1970 Opel GT vintage race car. Appears to be in as raced condition other than the wheels and tires. This Opel has a Weber carburetor upgrade with K&N filter, tuned length tubular racing header with dual Supertrapp mufflers, electric fuel pump, Bilstein shocks, rear sway bar, welded in roll bar and safety harness mounts. It also appears to be lowered with performance coil springs and I was told that it has a racing camshaft but I have not verified that. This is the last year to have the very desirable high compression, solid lifter cam 1.9L engine. It was recently removed from dry storage after more than 10 years. The fuel tank was cleaned, new fuel pump installed, fresh oil and filter installed, new spark plug wires and a new battery installed to get it going. Engine runs good with no abnormal noises or smoke but could probably use some carburetor cleaning and/or tuning for optimum performance. Clutch engages & disengages and transmission shifts through all gears. Doors and hood open & close, windows roll up and down, most lights and gauges work, hideaway headlight mechanism operates properly, etc. This vehicle does run and yard drive making it easy to load on a trailer for transport. I would recommend a full mechanical inspection and completing any necessary repairs before operating the vehicle on public roadways. This amazing piece of racing history needs to go to a new home where it can be restored to its former glory and live to race another day. Clear title ready to transfer to the new owner.
