Selling my 71 Gremlin. Hard to find a early Gremlin this nice.
1971 Gremlin . .. .B3 quick silver with black interior...232 six cylinder, manual floor shift 3 speed. Disc brakes , power steering, AM radio, Electric wipers, Magnum 500 wheels.
Everything on the car works as it should. Gauges , Radio , Fan , horn , wipers , washer, lights , clutch, brakes , windows , locks all work great. Gremlin has been driven little over 100 miles since restored. Always starts right up. Bottom of car is clean and original, not spray with bombed black like most. Still has dust from Arizona underneath.
19871 miles Arizona rust free car , last registered in 86 have plates and paperwork. Not sure if mileage is correct. Car was off the road for 30 years. I registered it in 2016.
Gremlin has been restored with thousands of dollars worth of NOS and New parts from 30 year collection.
New paint, 4-5 coats of PPG Omni single stage metallic, last coat was little dry in spots, doors were painted later with same can of paint but look darker or wet. Black pin stripe (tape).
Here is some of what has been done.
New ACC carpet, front and back with factory jute backing.
Manual disc brake conversion (77 bendix spindles) with New rotors and Rebuilt calipers NOS hardware, New hoses , Pads. New master cylinder. NOS rear brake drums, new rear wheel cylinders, new adjusters and spring hold down kit, brake shoes, new rear hose.
Original Gas tank was cleaned and sealed, NOS sending unit installed, tank touched up with tank tone silver. original undercoating left alone. NOS dash fuel gauge installed...works great.
Argent glitter Painted mag 500 wheels, nice original trim rings with new mastercraft all season tires 205/70/14. NOS center caps. New lug nuts. Restored grille correct argent silver with NOS headlight bezels, NOS marker lights, NOS turn signal.
New weather stripping rear hatch and inner/outer window seals and glass channels.
New motor mounts.
New clutch bell crank bushings and boots.
Lots of NOS parts. ..door hinges, lenses, marker light, headlight rings, locking gas cap.
NOS power steering conversion kit. Factory kit with NOS pump, 3 1/4-turn box, mounting brackets, hoses, ragjoint and belt all NOS American Motor parts kit.
NOS front valance panel, inner and outer.
Big NOS AMC modine radiator, NOS water pump, upper hose. New heater hoses and control valve, thermostat.
NOS carburetor, base gasket. New fuel pump and rubber lines.
New U-joints
NOS front bumper brackets...Restored front bumper (Front bumper was just chrome plated) installed with all New bumper bolts and NOS brackets)over $500.
NOS rear hatch chrome handle, with working original key.
NOS balancer . ..New melling timing chain , seal and cover gasket.
New pcv valve and NOS valve cover beather hose.
New interior side and back panels. door panels restored with sem color coat. New mylar watershields.
New plate light and marker lights, turn signal. Door jam light switch.
NOS door hinges, NOS outer door handles, and NOS beveled gaskets.
New rear transmission seal. New transmission mount and fluid.
New axle cover gasket and fluid.
HEI distributor , wires, plugs.
New air filter , restored air cleaner with new decals.
NOS 1970 hood (no emblem in 70) and new hood pad kit. NOS hood bumpers.
NOS door mirrors. left and right.
New upper and lower Vintage Moog ball joints.
New moog lower control arm bushings.
New strut rod bushings.
New Front and rear shocks, AC and Gabriel classics.
NOS fan switch. NOS headliner rear trim.New washer pump. New wiper blades in original Trico wipers.New windshield trim clips.New Fold down Radio antenna.Fresh oil and wix filter.
New Exhaust manifold and gaskets. Painted intake manifold. Restored tail lights and housings.
Many New parts, NOS parts, and good original parts from 30 year collection were used to restore. A lot of hard to find stuff and thousands of dollars in parts. I am sure there is more, a lot of work done in 12 years of ownership.
Car had two rust spots that were welded up. NO patches were needed. Front driver floor pan had some rust along the seam. It was cleaned up welded closed, coated with rust converter, sealed with 3m seam sealer, then painted before new carpet was installed. Other was a small hole in front of the battery tray, behind the headlight. It was welded shut without any patches. Front battery tray area was painted silver along with A like new original battery tray .
The windshield has a tiny chip in it. Passenger seat bottom seam is split. Seat back on driver side is a RH. You have to reach inside to tilt seat forward. Correct LH seat back frame is included. Back cargo area panels have a few cracks at mounting points like they all do. Rear bumper has very small dent in it. Front end could use an alignment, now that new lower control arm and strut rod bushings have been installed. Car drives straight but would align to prevent any tire wear.
Car is sold as is shown. Inspections welcome by appointment. 30 years in AMC hobby. Serious buyers only. NO joy rides. Car is Registered and inspected in NY , Clear title in my name. Always garaged.
