Description:

Pizza Oven? Food Truck? Giant BBQ Smoker? Beer Wagon? Or maybe just one whale of a pressure washer!
This truck is as legit as it gets. I purchased it from the City of Gallatin TN with only 41000 miles. The story is, after the fire department upgraded to newer and flashier equipment, the Parks department acquired this vehicle and used it for watering trees in the city parks. Up until the day I bought it, it was maintained in perfect order by the City garage. One of the mechanics told me Son, you could drive that thing to Florida and back, no problem. It's just getting broken in. I drove it 180 miles home from Nashville with no problem.
I was told by the City that the pump system works perfectly. I haven't tried it. They told me that it was winterized with an anti-freeze solution in the pumps and I didn't want to empty that out.
I believe that anyone who can drive stick shift can drive this truck. It's a simple 5-speed, and you get used to the double-clutch technique with a little practice. Here in Tennessee, no CDL is required for this vehicle (Check your local laws). It's a genuine joy to cruise in.
I saw the coolest thing online where someone had taken one of these vintage fire trucks and converted it into a massive mobile wood fired pizza oven. I'm thinking it would be really cool for something like that.
This is the Gold Bulldog, which means the drivetrain is all Mack (I think they called it Maxidyne), It is a turbo diesel with a standard 5-speed trans and air brakes.
I believe the vehicle is mechanically sound and could be driven a long distance if properly cared for. Obviously, this is my personal opinion and is not guaranteed.

“Very good condition for its age and use. I drive it semi-regularly with no problems. I was told by the City department that i purchased the truck from that the fire apparatus was in complete working order, but I never verified this myself. The fuel gauge and speedometer are not working and the upholstery has some damage. There is some rust, but i consider it minimal and repairable. I did not attempt to fix the rust because I wanted to keep the patina.”
