If you want something original than this cougar is for you, as you don't often see a 1971 mercury cougar especially a Coupe. The engine and transmission are all original it's 351C I just had the engine rebuilt (still has the break in oil), new cams, new pistons, seals, belts, alternator, water and fuel pumps, new radiator, new hoses, new fuel lines, new battery, serviced air conditioning, new plugs, new plug wires, new MSD distributor and box, new ignition coil, new Holley 4 BBL carb, new edelbrock manifold, new manifolds, new starter, new oil pan, new oil pump, completely rebuilt front End, sway bar, inner outer tie rods. New arms, new shocks, new coils, new upper and lower control arms, new bushings and castle bolts everywhere, grease caps that are accessible, , new breaks rotors and calipers, flow master dual exhaust. The transmission was fully serviced. The engine, transmission and suspension are perfect. Going in on monday for an alignment and high speed balancing. The tires are almost new plenty of tread on them and the rims are clean.This car is on the road...
The body is in Good shape its straight and no rust through. The interior has been completely ripped out and the floor boards have been sealed to prevent rust. New headliner installed new rear window rubber gasket installed, new carpet, everything cleaned out, brand new turn signal unit. The car has some bumps and bruises its not perfect but if it where it would be a $20, 000 car. The paint job is good it could use a touch up here and there. The door panels need to be replaced and the carpet should be done over. Its a new carpet but I didn't do as good a job as I should have. There is no radio but I didn't want one all the wires are there you just need a new face and speakers.
Lastly new gas tank very important all the gauges work as do all the lights. The box is still in the trunk that allows the taillights to cascade when you turn the blinker on. I have a brand new wire harness for the rear lights and some other misc parts.
I have the original owners manual and spare tire. Ask all the questions you want.
