Alfa Romeo GTV (1972)
for sale

Price: US $5,100.00

Description:

This 1972 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV is believed to be the first SPICA-injected 2000 GTVs made for the US market based on its chassis number (AR302001). It is fully restored and in beautiful condition, with tasteful modern updates to engine, ignition, suspension, brakes. The suspension and engine have been modified with a 237 degree cam, upgraded springs and shocks, new suspension bushings throughout, and 4-piston Wilwood front brakes. The only significant aesthetic modifications are a set of aftermarket wheels and an aftermarket steering wheel, apart from which the car has a mostly stock appearance inside and out. Compression is170-185 psi across all cylinders. Extensive documentation of the work performed during the seller's ownership is provided, and the car is sold with a clean Washington State title in the seller's name.
This Alfa was originally Plum coloe, and had been given a low-quality repaint in red at an unknown date. The seller repainted the car again in red, this time taking it down to bare metal and prepping it properly. The original overrider-equipped bumpers are fitted, and trim appears to be complete and original. The attached invoice shows over $11k was spent for the repaint. Panel fitment appears to be good, and the doors sit flush and level thanks to a hinge repair kit fitted by the seller's preferred shop, Ralli-Round.
Yellow tinted driving lights are the only deviation from the stock lighting. The taillights are the correct large units used on late GTVs, and the correct turn signals are slung under the bumper. Despite the lowered stance, the front valence is intact and free of bends or chipping.
The interior was also redone and features an aftermarket steering wheel is fitted, though the rest of the dash fittings appear to be correct for a 1970 GTV. The headliner is taut and in good condition, with stock courtesy lights mounted just forward of the rear grab handles.
The 2.0L twin cam inline-four has been upgraded with a 5417 camshaft, giving 237 degrees of duration, .050″ cam lift, and .006″ clearance on the intake, and .008″ on the exhaust. Numerous other small changes are present, including a machined crank pulley to eliminate the grooves for the A/C and smog pump belts, an electric fan, and a ZF steering box from a later Alfa Romeo Spider. It has been updated with electronic ignition.
Restoration was performed in 2013 and regular maintenance has been done since.
