You are viewing a 1972 Cadillac Eldorado finished in Stratford Covert Metallic with a light cream interior that is called antique light covert (Trim Code 483). Power comes from the legendary Cadillac 500 cubic inch V8 mated to an automatic transmission. It is showing just 63, 987 miles on the odometer and these are likely actual from new. This car has spent most of its life in Virginia and its condition is just spectacular as a result. It was driven from Virginia to New York where I purchased it, and since then I have enjoyed the luxury and style of this premier Cadillac coupe from 1972. The A/C blows cold and the power options work as they should. The stereo is magnificent. I would not hesitate to drive this Eldorado across the country at the drop of a hat! It is quite simply ready to cruise, enjoy and show. The body and chrome are very nice and the interior is all style. It has been detailed to a very high standard and even comes with the original owner's manual and warranty card with the buyer's name and address and date of purchase indicated. I've had several requests for a photo of the undercarriage, so I've added a close-up that is indicative of the its clean condition overall.
Allow me to digress for a moment, but I have to tell a quick story about this Cadillac, one of those wonderful little experiences that make the classic car hobby like nothing else. The last evening I drove the car before putting it away in winter storage was a pleasant, breezy evening, cool enough to hint at fall, but with a whiff of summer lingering amidst the swirling leaves. It made me think twice about putting the car away, but I knew the calendar tells no tales, and cold weather was on its way. So as a compromise with my desire to extend the summer as long as possible, I took the long way 'round and took as much time as I could. The windows were down, the engine was purring contentedly and radio sounded sublime. And just as I was thinking it couldn't get any better, Phil Collins' iconic In the Air Tonight came through the speakers! And as anyone knows, there are few songs as perfect for cruising. I honestly believe the spirit of the car was speaking to me a bit there, and with that legendary drum solo crescendoing through the interior cabin we pulled up to get her stored away for the season and all was right in the world. Nothings better than classic cars!

As an interesting side note, Sir Walter Raleigh, the sixteenth century gentleman and explorer, was obsessed with finding El Dorado, the mythical city of gold from which Cadillac's flagship borrows its name. He went in search of it on at least three separate voyages, the last of which got him in some seriously hot water. I believe he engaged in a skirmish with the Spanish on this voyage, which was expressly forbidden by the king, and so was executed upon returning to England in 1618, the city of gold having eluded him to the end. The legend of El Dorado has a long history of evoking the highest of passions, and Cadillac's finest creation is a part of this storied tradition. I encourage you to do some reading about it on your own. Let me know if you have any questions about this Cadillac; and I also consider trades. Thank you
