Up for auction is a 100% original 1972 Cougar XR-7 Convertible Q-code with only 43, 000 original one owner miles. Approximately only 368 Q-code 72 Cougar convertibles were built. Vehicle was purchased new on July 20th, 1972 from Vitale Ford in Montrose, PA for the sum of $3, 951.00.
Vehicle is equipped with a 351, 4bbl CJ with dual exhaust, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power top, am 8-track, protective side molding, styled steel wheels.
Vehicle still retains its original paint which is in excellent condition. Vehicle is 100% solid and rust free!!! All moldings and chrome are in exceptional condition. The undercarriage is extremely clean and solid!!
The original interior is in excellent condition. The dash pad has a small crack in it just over the glove compartment. The top is in perfect condition with the glass window still in place.
Vehicle has new brakes, calipers, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, B.F.Goodrich tires, flowmaster mufflers, battery, tune up, fuel systems flushed with professionally rebuilt carburetor, coolant system flushed with new thermostat.
Vehicle runs and drives flawlessly and can be driven any distance with complete confidence!!!
This is a beautiful unmolested rare Q-code Cougar Convertible. One in this condition doesn't come up for sale often. It retains the original window sticker, sales receipt, dealer booklet jacket and owners manuals.
