MG MGB Black (1973)

Description:

Here I have a 1973 MGB Tourer that I bought from a guy here in Alabama to resale. He no longer wanted the car. It sat covered under tarps for 4 years in his driveway. He owned the car since the 1990's and drove it sparingly. He bought it from the original owner. The car was not running when I bought it 2 months ago but does run and drive now but needs a little more brake work and some tuning. The car is not that rusty. The rust is limited to the hood and a little surface rust on the seems. The paint is not original and looks to have been painted some time back. I think the paint is a 6 out of 10. The car is very solid on the floors, fenders and lower dog legs. It does not have the usual rust and is an excellent candidate to restore or drive this summer. The engine has good oil pressure and does not smoke. I took the smog controls off as the smog pump was locked up. The alternator was bad and I installed a new one. I put in new plugs also. The top is there but does not fit well. The interior is original and is navy blue. The seats are in good shape and the door panels are ok. It has an original period radio but is not working at this time. The back panel has not been cut into and is solid. The seat belts are there. It still has the original rubber sill covers and I believe the carpet is original. All the glass is good. The wheels are not the originals but have the LE type MGB wheels. The tires are ok. It has a luggage rack and tonneau cover but is tearing around the zipper but is in good shape otherwise. All the gauges and lights work. The wipers, turn signals, radio and horn do NOT work. It may be a fuse, I'm still working on that. The transmission and clutch work but I would bleed the clutch fluid later. The rear end is good. The suspension is a little soft. This car is an excellent car to restore. This car has not been cut up and is still very original. I would keep it myself but I have 2 others. Also, the car does Not have overdrive on the transmission. In Alabama, we don't have titles on cars before 1975, so if that is an issue, don't bid. If you have any questions, please call me, Bill @ 205-914-2952. I would rather talk to you if your interested. I know a lot about MGB's so I can answer lots of your concerns. This car is being sold on a bill of sale only. The car is located in Pell City, Alabama, which is about 120 miles east of Atlanta. Thanks and happy bidding!

“MGB that was sitting for 4 years and is not that rusty. It is a very good candidate for a restoration or a good driver. It does run and drive but I would recommend trailering home. This car has a Bill of Sale only and does NOT have a title. No titles on cars before 1975 in Alabama.”
