Hi, Up for auction is a 1974 Pontiac Grand Am, a rare model with opera windows. There is a lot to tell about it so it here goes. I bought this car from Connecticut and had it shipped to Florida. The first pics you see are rite off the transport.I have a good amount of experience with a-bodys having just finished a 73 grand am and wanted to do a 74. I removed the front end and have all those parts, i will get into what i do not have later.removed the engine disassembled it and sent it out to get cleaned, had new cam bearings pressed in and had the cylinders honed. After honing the cylinders were just a bit bigger than stock so new rings were gapped for each cylinder to match specs all stock clearances were achieved.Pistons and connecting rods, crank were cleaned and reused, they were in great shape and meet stock clearances for the new bearings installed. Replaced the original intake with an edelbrock performer intake and now has a edelbrock 650 carb on it, original intake goes with the car. Cylinder heads were given a good cleaning and new valve seats and springs.New lifters, push rods, oil pump, timing chain, fuel pump and cam, water pump including sleeves and divider along with a full gasket set, primed, painted with exhaust manifold painted with hi-heat paint and cured.Starter, belts, alt, power steering pump are all new. HEI Distributor was rebuilt with new pick up coil and brought back to specs. Transmission was flushed, inspected, given a new filter and new front and rear seals. The transmission was in great shape, primed and painted.Chassis was stripped and painted by previous owner, i added another chassis coat of paint, there are some scratches along the frame from jacks stands and moving around. Installed engine, cleaned and used original harness cleaned and re taped and new wire looms were necessary. All parts were stripped and repainted, core support, fender supports, etc. Radiator is a new 3 row aluminum to fit exactly in the shroud like the original. Engine was started, broken in and runs beautifully, no smoke, no drips just purrs. I have a short movie of it and will post the link as soon as i find out how to do that. Heater core, blower motor a/c coil were all cleaned and reinstalled. Dash harness and gauges were all installed and work great, horns all fuses, a/c and heat controls all work, rear lights and body harness all work with no problems. I have really done nothing to the body except cleaned and got rid of all dirt, removed some surface rust in some areas and primed it.Floor boards were replace by previous owner and did a great job welding it all in.The body has 1 or 2 spots were it rusted thru, holes are seen in the pics, not many around pass rear opera window, roof on the same side and a couple of small holes in the trunk, which by the way the original trunk lid was badly rusted and another was purchased by the previous owner. The body is in great shape namely the qter panels and rear around the window all in great shape and no rust thru. What i do not have is windshield, gas tank, replacement nose, rear bumper, dashboard, rear side interior lower and upper panels. It had a landau roof and i do have all the trim for it in great shape.I do have a great stock hood, wheel wells, front bumper, rear valance panel in great shape, both fenders each have a very small amount of rust at the rear.I have the nose support, several in fact, i have the seats, fronts need some upholstery.Rears are decent. All lights i have, console, interior trims around windows, a couple of steering columns. On the car i did not do any brakes yet so it will need rotors maybe drums, some of the brake lines, calipers. I have the drive shaft but not installed. Differential was drained cleaned and given a new front seal and fluid. All numbers match, engine, tranny rear, chassis and body all is as it came from the factory.I looked all those numbers up and verified them because thats important to me to have a numbers matching car. Although the title shows clear, there will be no problem with getting one, i had to choose from eBays drop down list.I have not titled or registered the car in Florida, you will get a bill of sale and will assist in anything else that is needed. Tires and rims go with the car, as well as all the parts including a lot of extras, some nos, i cannot even list everything i have that is in my garage and another storage space, it all goes with the car.. I do not have the time anymore due to my job and want to do something else. No trades unless its a 70`s vette that needs rebuilding must be complete. Its a great car with most of the hard and expensive mechanical work done. It will not take much to complete and get it back on the road. My 73 will also be up for sale down the road. Price is negotiable but not by much, Pontiac parts are not cheap and getting hard to find. Please if you have any questions email me and i will answer to the best of my knowledge. You will have to pick this car up or arrange for shipping, but remember there are alot of extra parts, they will not fit inside to transport them with the car, that will need a separate run in my opinion. If you end the auction and then change your mind you will be responsible for the listing fees. I hated to say that but had to. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
