Alfa Romeo Spider Convertible 2-door (1976)
for sale
Price: US $4,500.00
Price: US $4,500.00
This alfa is in good condition. The car is working well (the top end was rebuilt at the end of 2011), the SPICA pump was also rebuilt at the same time, the clutch was redone the following year).
The
paint
is not the best: it has a second paint job that is clearly of low quality. The body has some dings here and there, and there is some rust (left headlight, left floor board mainly).
The
windshield
is cracked on the right top corner. I have never bothered fixing it.
The
convertible top
was redone a few years ago and is like new. It also has the skirt to cover the top when folded, which is in fair shape.
With the car comes the Sunbrella cover that protects the car from the sun, to be used when the top is down (I also use it when the top is up for better protection of the interior).
The
clutch
is like new (flywheel, disc, pressure plate, master and slave cylinders), but the synchros of the gearbox are starting to wear. Shifting needs to be done slower than normal from first to second and second to third, especially before the gearbox warms up.
The
suspension
was upgraded a while ago with more sportive springs and shocks.
The
brakes
are working fine, but will need servicing (pads and rotors) in the near future. Also the brake booster seems to not work great sometimes and might need to be replaced.
The
tires
are old and will need to be replaced if you plan on taking the car on a big trip.
The
dashboard
has a crack or two, but
interior
is in good shape. The leather seats are nice.
The
radio
is not installed but it has the cutout in the dash to place one.
The
heater blower
works well.
The
passenger door
is harder to open sometimes. The door checks are missing.
All the
accessories
installed work, I think. (Lights, wipers, horns etc...)
The car runs great, but takes longer than normal to start (not sure why). The car runs great in town or highway. I use it on the highway sometimes and has no problem reaching 80+mph and is stable.
Overall it is a nice car which needs some bodywork.
I have owned it for about 6 years. I am a mechanic specialized in european cars. I took care of the car for the last 10 years. All the maintenance was done regularly.
