We are reducing our car collection to a more manageable number due to space issues and have decided to part with a few of our original cars that we do not drive often. This auction is for a car we like and there is nothing wrong with, but we don't drive it often and having cars just sit taking up space is kind of pointless.
This is a 1978 Datsun 510 station wagon with low mileage and no rust from the South --- truly a time capsule. Odometer shows 13, 500 miles and I have no reason to believe it is not original ( since we take it on short trips every month the mileage does change slightly )
Fabulous shiny paint ( ' Chartreuse which Datsun offered in 1978 and 1979 ) with no body damage or rust. Interior is original with only one area of vinyl repair on the driver's seat. It shows very well -- everything works.
The car drives great with no weird noises, no smoking, no dripping and no problems at all. All the maintenance items have been done as well as all the safety items ( brakes, tires, fuel lines ) so we could drive it when we wanted with out issues. Starts right up, , , warms up quickly, idles smoothly, has lots of power and is actually a fun car to drive.
As it is an original and unrestored car, there may be some blemishes that you would find with any 42 year old car such as age or deterioration wear on rubber, metal or glass but you will be hard pressed to find anything wrong and astonished that this is a 42 year old used car.
We want nothing in trade - we have enough cars and are trying to whittle down what we have. As this is a 42 year old used car, it is sold as is, where is, with no warranties.
