I have known this car for 30 years and have personally owned it for 15 of them, so it has been my long-time goal to restore it and keep it in the family. Unfortunately I got divorced last year, and I can't afford any more repairs or maintenance. This was a desert car all of its life, so when my now ex husband moved us to Eugene it acted up horribly in the constantly wet weather. It is now under a carport to fend off rust and mold. The biggest issue now is the fuel pumps. My mechanic couldn't pinpoint the problem, so the car has been sitting for months unused, and currently does not run. It will need to be transported to it's new home. I believe the water pump is also gone; I suddenly had no coolant the last day I drove it. Aside from that I have spent a ridiculous amount of money on maintenance, and nearly every part you can think of besides the engine and transmission have been replaced under my care. The tires are also new. I was going to rebuild the engine and transmission next, so that WILL need to be done. The car ran beautifully until last year and was still tackling interstate trips, but the fact remains that it is very leaky, cranky and tired due to sheer age. It still has all gears and cylinders. The paint will need to be redone. It is also filthy from lack of use, so it needs a thorough cleaning. The body is very straight, though, and it still cleans up beautifully. It turns heads. I am honest when I say this will be a major restoration project! I have previously listed it at a much higher price, but I'm starting to realize the longer it sits how much work it is going to take to revive it. It is a real jerk when left to sit. I will not sell it for parts. In fact, I need the next owner to help me keep my promise to my late mother, who loved this car every bit as much as me. I told her I would restore it, so if I can't do that I need it to go to a place where that will happen. I have it's complete history and all of my maintenance records.
