This is a Pontiac Fiero, so if you are looking at this car
you probably already now a little bit about Fieros. This car was made in 1985 and is over 30
years old. With that being said, this is
one of the best 30 year old cars and definitely one of the best Fieros you will
find, at least at this price. I did my
best to take photos of everything, good and bad, and will try to list
everything below. Overall this is a
great car that has been garage kept its whole life and is in excellent
condition for its age. I only drive it
once or twice every few months and I need the garage space, and money, to build
my garage gym for my new hobby, Crossfit.
The Good
1985 GT, 4 speed standard V6 (way better than a 4 cylinder
automatic!)
Engine rebuilt at 109, 000 miles, all work done by a
reputable body shop and I have all receipts
Engine runs great
Clutch and transmission work flawlessly
Notchback with Spoiler (Maybe I am partial, but the
notchback looks way cooler than the fastback)
Moon roof
Upgraded wheels with low profile tires (See Photos)
Alpine aftermarket stereo with Amp and subwoofers mounted
behind seats (Works and sounds awesome, See photos).
Motorized headlights work great
Heater works well
Motorized Windows work, but are slow going up
Has newer battery and I installed a battery disconnect that
you can turn when you want to store it for a while and then can easily
reconnect it when you want to drive it again.
Comes with 2 sets of keys
The Not So
Good
The AC does not work
The paint has some spots that have scratches or chips. Overall the paint looks good but I tried to
show the imperfections in the photos. The
sail panels are also peeling inside (a notorious Fiero issue, See photos).
The rubber interior pieces are warped in couple places. Above the center dash piece and on the glove
compartment (See photos).
The windows and moon roof are not 100 percent
waterproof. When you power wash the car
it will drip a small amount of water on the seats. Since the car is garage kept, rain has never
been an issue but I don’t think very much water would get in from rain. (You can see in the photos of the passenger
how much water dripped on the seat from washing it right before the photos, it’s
not a stain, just wet).
The passenger seat has small burn hole in the seat (See
photos).
The left taillight has 2 small cracks in it (See photos).
The windshield wipers work great, but when you hit a bump
the will swipe on their own, this is the notorious Fiero “phantom wipe”. I fixed this by installing a switch on the
console just below the gear shifter. If
you leave the switch off they will not phantom wipe. Then you can just turn the switch on and use
them like normal when you need them.
The gas gauge is off by about an eighth of a tank. Once you get to an eight of a tank you are
really out of gas. It works normally
otherwise and I just fill it up at about a quarter tank and it has never been
an issue.
If you have any questions or want photos of anything else please
feel free to message me. Car is sold as is with no warranty. Buyer is
responsible for pickup or shipping.
