According to Automobile Magazine’s Collectible Classic series, “Although Suzuki sold more than 200, 000 Samurais in the United States, finding a clean one can present a challenge. The Samurai’s glory days are at least two decades behind us, and the years since have generally been unkind to a vehicle that was always regarded as a disposable object of off-road abuse...The Samurai represents an off-road genre that no longer exists: an agile SUV significantly smaller than a modern Jeep Wrangler. Straight-line speed is lacking, but the Sammy’s humble virtues include a 2100-pound curb weight, a manual transmission, manual steering, and a manual convertible top. There’s deep aftermarket support and a variety of clubs for owners. The Samurai also gets decent gas mileage and has a reputation for ruggedness. If you find one that has spent its life as the RV tender for road-tripping retirees, buy it.”
While this one hasn’t been hauled around behind an RV, it is 99% bone stock, unaltered and unabused. Everything on it works as it should and is an absolute blast to drive. It’s like a quad for the road. It is California smog legal and passes emissions tests with ease. It’s painted in a triple black color scheme and looks amazingly bad ass. It’s used regularly to commute on Southern California freeways and is completely reliable. Drive it cross country if you want. On or off-road.
Features include two tops: the bikini top pictured and a new Rampage black top with removable side and rear panels. Tires are nearly new. A rear seat is included, but not shown. Front brakes have been recently replaced and timing belt, water pump and crank and cam seals replaced. It doesn’t leak or smoke. It has a lockable rear storage compartment, underhood storage bin, NOS factory tool kit. There is no rust, accident damage, dings or dents. Odometer indicates 43K, but true mileage unknown. It is as nice a Sammy as you’ll find anywhere. This is a rare chance to get a really great one.
