1987 Porsche 944 Turbo

Porsche 944 Turbo (1987)
for sale

Price: US $6.50

Description:

I'm getting out of the game, as they say. Up for auction is my latest 944 Turbo (951) project and 10 years of accumulated spare parts.
THIS CAR IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING. IT IS IN PIECES IN MY GARAGE.
The vehicle up for auction is a 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo optioned with the M474 suspension package, forged cup wheels shod in Potenza RE-11 tires (225 up front, 245 in back) and a limited slip transaxle.
It is mostly stock; an aftermarket strut tower brace is present, a billet aluminum bypass valve (Lindsey Racing) and most of the vacuum lines have been converted to silicone. Hawk pads with about 500 miles and 1.5 hours are currently installed; personally, I'd swap them with the spare OEM set prior to street use. Rotors are solid vented discs and still have plenty of wear.
The dash is in good condition; however, the side bolster on the driver's seat does have a torn patch in the leather evidenced in the photos. The AC was not functioning when I purchased the vehicle; I suspect it needs upgraded rings / seals to be compliant with R134a. The power steering rack has a slow leak (as most 944 racks do!); on the order of a drop on the floor every couple days.
All of the under body panels are present and accounted for; the 'bat wing' was repaired prior to my ownership (remains functional). The paint is in good condition despite the dust and dirt in the pictures; there's minor surface rust on some of the components, have not discovered any on the chassis.
The auction includes the vehicle, all parts removed from the vehicle, a spare short block (mostly disassembled to get ready for cleaning prior to mill work), a spare head (must be rebuilt, needs new valves), a spare cam tower (including the cam shaft, hydraulic lifters and pulley) and a second set of phone dial wheels with all seasons installed (Goodyear Eagle GT). Several yards of silicone vacuum tubing and associated connectors, a box full of miscellaneous fasteners, random seals / rings, a box of hose clamps off various 944 vehicles I've had over the years, oil pan gasket, a couple sets of chips (93 and 103 octane tunes), oil filters, throttle body, spare set of brake pads, car cover and a timing / balance shaft belt tensioning tool kit are also included. I have not cataloged each piece part as there are too many, however those are the highlights.
The car was a blast to drive; shifted well, pulled hard, no compression issues. It stalled out one evening on my way home from work when I pushed in the clutch. I had it transported home on a flatbed to find the engine could not be turned with a breaker and the clutch pedal stuck on the floor. I suspected either a catastrophic failure of the clutch (known weak point) or a spun bearing (also a known weak point). I ran all the oil through a patch filter, scoped all the bores and oil pan with no evidence of metallic debris. After that I started to tear it down from the engine side as I had time available; that's where it's been the last 3 years on stands. I recently put it on wheel dollies so I could move it around.
Note, again, this auction is for the project and all associated parts including those parts I have accumulated from various 944 Turbo vehicles over the last decade. The winner will need a flat bed with a winch to transport the vehicle and a truck bed / van for boxes of parts / spare wheel set / spare engine components. A handy person with spare time familiar with these vehicles is about to get a great deal!
I have additional photos available, including shots of the spare parts.
